Ordered hispi cabbage for Sunday lunch and it was frozen inside. Raised it with manager who said they would make another one but didn’t come for 20 minutes by which point everyone else was finished and we no longer wanted it. They insisted we still pay for the dish.

The food is lovely as is the service. But my aperitif was slapdash at the £15 price tag. And the food though delicious is far too pricey. In the same period visited Gold in Notting hill and Agora in London Bridge both small plates restaurants but neither so expensive. £79 per person for 2 drink and 6 shared plate ( only one dish was a larger plate) is too too much sorry.

Brilliant service - from the moment I walked in throughout the meal. Kind and found a table (not counter), despite the fully booked status, that suited my mother and then was looked after brilliantly and expertly by a truly lovely waitress. And the food was on top top form. All small and mod plates full of flavour, creative and served at perfect pace across the evening. As always it’s a fabulously constructed menu with some really interesting, and skilled combinations from the sumac dip and remarkable bread through superbly executed Bardacchio, full of flavour and expert prawns, deep and earthy supreme mushrooms and more. Small plates are generous here but flavours remain bold yet often subtle. Lovely Israeli Sauvignon blanc. Fun, friendly, and on fire as a restaurant - really performing and a terrific early evening.

This was the coolest place my husband and I visited! The food is soooooo tasty! And the Israeli wine selections paired soooooo well! 10/10!

Not coming back here. Noisy, expensive and not that special in taste. We shared all dishes from the small (starters), medium and larger menu options. All plates were about the same starter size. They tasted ok if not a bit greasy but I can understand why people might like it here. The dips were good and so was the wine. The thing that got me was the, indicated as large octopus dish (£36) which contained 3 small pieces - please see image attached. I’m not sure if we caught a bad day but this was rather underwhelming. The tiny pre-cut octopus bits were drowned in a greasy sauce which tasted alright but really nothing to make me come back.

A great lunch experience near St Pancras station. Staff are very welcoming and have space to keep your luggage if you arrive with a suitcase. There is enough variety on the menu to accommodate dietary requirements. The octopus is what we tried and it was amazing. The polenta, radicchio salad and aubergine from the starters were all very tasty and beautifully presented. Loved the pomegranate and pistachio combination used in the salad!

Is it just us? We were seated upstairs where there is a major lighting issue. The space is cold looking and frankly not attractive, and to make things worse, the lights flicker very badly. We moved tables, which as slightly better, and noticed that everybody who was offered our first table, ended up moving. This is not a minor problem and is very surprising considering Tom Dixon, who puts his name to the restaurant, is known for his lighting! t/he flickering lights dominate the whole space The downstairs is is much more attractive, but the music a little loud for me. On the plus side, the food was delicious, and memorable and the staff outstanding and knowledgable. They too were very frustrated about the lights, which makes their job difficult as there is nothing they can do. So on balance, what should have been a wonderful evening was somewhat spoilt by the ambiance, or lack of. That is why we go out after all!

Nice place for brunch - different from the usual eggs & toast combinations. The restaurant has a nice vibe, and service was efficient, without being overwhelming. Good selection of cocktails too!

"We sat at the end of the kitchen counter closest to the bar last night. We were totally blown away with the service and the food. The service was faultless. Everyone just danced around effortlessly in the background, smiling, laughing and grafting. In particular there was a lady in a blue shirt who's knowledge of the menu, passion for the menu and cuisine made it all the more special. The vibe and culture looked incredible both in the kitchen and on the floor. One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Thank you so much.

Busy on a Tuesday night in January - always a good sign. Service was good & v friendly - rare in London these days. The team all seemed to get on well with each other etc. Food was good but not great imo. Yes the bread is nice but not amazing. And I just didn’t “get” some the flavours. Did really enjoy my first Israeli white wine though! Would I go back - probably not. Would I recommend you try it? Yes.

We were up this way for the Vogue exhibit at the Lightroom, which was very good. We needed find somewhere to eat and thought rather than get pizza or burgers get something a little more memorable. We walked in and they managed to seat us by the kitchen, literally looking into the kitchen, which was actually a great experience as you can watch everything being prepared and in a 2 you get a really nice intimate setting. We had a really nice chef greet us and throughout the meal she was chatty and explained what we were having which was also really nice. We went for the Sunday roast meals, which may or may not have been the right thing to do. The starters were fab and the brioche bread was probably the highlight, that’s belittling everything else this brioche bread was amazing, warm and so fresh. The dips were really nice so was the salad. For mains I went for the beef, which found a little tuff and dry, maybe it could have done with a bit more jus, my wife went for the seabream which was really tasty but again would have benefited from a sauce, maybe not everyone would agree. The sides were excellent, the potatoes were cooked to perfection and some had a really nice crisp where they had been slightly crushed then fried, and the greens were nice and fresh and crunchy. The staff were all really accommodating and friendly, so we couldn’t fault them at all, from the moment we stepped in talked to the lady at the front, to the multiple servers we spoke to. The bathrooms let them down a little, they could have been checked more regularly to make sure they were clean and well stocked. The soap they had was very nice. All in all I would have given it a 4.5 star, it was good, just not amazing. We would like to come back and try their evening menu on a week day or Saturday.

The food is incredible and the restaurant has a lively and upbeat ambiance. This was my second visit and the lovely staff member Angela remembered me, even where I was seated during my last visit! The service from the staff is really impeccable. I hope to come back again soon and try out everything else on the menu. Thank you Coal Office Team 🌟
